Trip to Peterhof (Petrodvorets) with visit to the Grand Palace and walk through the park complex, 25 km sothwest of the city.
Peterhof is St. Petersburg's most luxuriouse and spectacular Imperial estate. The Grand Palace, filled with fascinating and elaborate interiors, sits on top of a high seashore and amidst an enormous park, adorned with fountains, statues and pavilions. The park's unique cascades and fountain system (over 140 fountains) was designed in the 18th century and doesn't require the use of any pumps to operate the fountains.
